On May 21, a news release said, the Gatineau Police Service arrested Mohamed Doulde Sow, 28, Emmanuel Lokota-Sangwa, 31, and Jonathan Muanda-Kuika, 30. They later appeared in court on charges that included: sexual contact; sexual assault; incitement to sexual contact; administering, causing to be administered or attempting to cause to be administered a drug or substance.

One day later, on May 22, police arrested Kouame Samuel Levi Minomekpo, 29. He also appeared in court to face charges that included: administering, causing to be administered, or attempting to cause to be administered a drug or substance; sexual assault; and sexual assault with the participation of another person.

According to police, the four individuals allegedly met their victims, aged 12 to 18, via social media platforms such as Snapchat and in shopping malls. Subsequently, the victims were allegedly offered temporary accommodation and given intoxicating substances.

The alleged offences occurred between the end of 2024 and May 22, 2026, police said, and the investigation was ongoing.

The May 27 release also said investigators had reason to fear that these individuals may have other victims and that some were still hesitant to come forward.
