Four people, in their early 20s, have been charged in the homicide of 19-year-old Ryan Nagy last summer in Burnaby, homicide detectives said Saturday.

On June 29, shortly after 7 a.m., the Burnaby RCMP received a report of a home invasion at a residence in the 7600-block of 17 Avenue.

Police located Nagy suffering from life-threatening injuries. Paramedics tried to save his life but he died. A second victim, a woman, was located with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team took over the case. Police did not say how Nagy died but said the attack appeared to have been targeted.

On Saturday, Ali Shamkhi, Ousmaine Keita and Rais Usman, all 20 years old, and 23-year-old Rhoda Diabikulu were charged with manslaughter and forcible confinement, according to IHIT.

Investigators say the four suspects will remain in custody until their first court appearances.
