Florence Pugh may have had celebrities defending her headline-making sheer dress in 2022, but she still wound up slammed. The Oppenheimer star, 29, made headlines that summer for braving a see-through gown at the Valentino Haute Couture Show, where she rocked up in a show-stopping, hot pink number to rep the brand she fronts. Posing solo and eventually with former Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, Florence made instant headlines for her look and, later, for defending her revealing fashion choice. When users on The Daily Mail reacted to Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page defending the look, one fan replied: "Yes men are disgusting and will always bring down to the tone. But wearing a see-through dress is just begging for attention & it's always going to be negative attention."
While one fan said that Florence looked "amazing," another disagreed, writing: "At the end of the day. Showing your nips is just unnecessary whichever way you dress it up."

Calling the dress "incredible," the actress said: "There was no way there wouldn’t be a commentary on it. Whether it be negative or positive, we all knew what we were doing." She further noted "how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see." Florence equally referred to her "tiny t*ts" in a self-deprecating way, saying that she's "aware" that she's "flat-chested" while telling people to "grow" up and learn a little "respect."
