Eric Dane claimed in his posthumous memoir that he nearly came to blows with Josh Duhamel on the set of “Las Vegas” back in 2004.
“I’m on set, shooting a guest shot for the show ‘Las Vegas,'” Dane wrote in “My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
“We’re about to film a fight scene. I ask the lead, Josh Duhamel, to please not grab me by the tie during the scene. He promises me he won’t,” the late actor continued, noting that he was dealing with a herniated cervical disc in his neck at the time.
But, Dane recalled, the “director calls ‘Action,’ and Josh pulls on my tie.”
“Fire rips through my neck,” he went on. “I go, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, we have to stop.’ He apologizes, I grunt from the pain, and then, take two. He pulls on my tie again.”
The actor remembered telling the director, “You better rein in your boy.” Duhamel apologized, explaining to the “Grey’s Anatomy” star that he “got caught up in the moment.”
Dane then recalled going into take three “and son of a bitch, he grabs my f–king tie again,” he wrote.
“I whip off my suit coat and I say, ‘Let’s go, you p—y-ass actor.’”

Dane continued, “I ball my hands into fists and I come at him. Nobody calls ‘Cut,’ the camera keeps rolling, and to the world who sees the whole nasty scene, I’m the aggressor, the hothead, I start the fight.”
The “Euphoria” alum counted his hot-headed reaction among his regrets in the memoir.
“Josh and I have seen each other since and we’re cool,” he wrote, per the outlet. “But I want to say it again. Josh, I was wrong. I should’ve walked away. I’m sorry, dude.”
Dane made a guest appearance as Leo Broder during the second season of “Las Vegas,” opposite Duhamel’s Danny McCoy, a former U.S. Marine and head of security for a fictional resort featured in the series.
Duhamel previously said in a September interview on “In Depth with Graham Bensinger” that his character — who had just returned from Iraq — was “in a real dark place” that season, and that Duhamel’s method acting “scared people a little bit, including me.”
A rep for Duhamel did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on Tuesday.
Dane — whose posthumous book hit shelves on Tuesday — also revealed he was misdiagnosed prior to being diagnosed with ALS, which ultimately led to his death.
After “gradually losing any use of [his] right hand,” the “Last Ship” actor “saw a hand specialist, who passed me off to another hand specialist, who sent me to a neurologist,” he wrote.
Dane recalled being “shuttled from doctor to doctor” and undergoing “a battery of tests” to finally receive “a diagnostic consensus” of multifocal motor neuropathy — “a rare autoimmune disorder causing extreme muscle weakness” with “90 percent effective” treatment, he divulged in the memoir.
Treatment for the condition failed to help Dane, a development that left his doctors “scared.”
He was ultimately diagnosed with the “death sentence” of ALS in 2024, he wrote, comparing the experience to “a horror movie.”
