A jerk vest is actually a type of stunt vest with attachment points for jerk cables on the front, back, and sides of the body, used for all sorts of thrilling applications like aerial stunts, flying, and wire work. While it wasn’t intended to be funny, those rather interesting choices of words definitely make for a great nickname!
