Ella Langley just made music history, but her next big moment had nothing to do with the charts.
After spending the week celebrating a record-breaking milestone with “Choosin’ Texas,” the country star appears to be embracing a very different kind of challenge. What started as a huge career moment quickly turned into a playful attempt to push herself outside her comfort zone.
Ella Langley is a rising country singer-songwriter who has quickly become one of the genre’s biggest new names, earning major attention for her music and her breakout success with “Choosin’ Texas.” With the song now at the center of a historic chart run, Langley is showing fans that even after a career-defining week, there are still a few fears she is willing to face.
Ella Langley Takes On An Unexpected Fear
CraSH/imageSPACE / MEGALangley gave fans a glimpse of her adventurous side when she decided to get up close with several exotic animals. The country star was seen with a parrot perched on her shoulder before sitting beside a baby kangaroo, but she soon decided to push herself even further.
The moment was captured in a TikTok video shared Wednesday, where Langley was introduced to an Argentine boa. “This is facing my fears a little bit,” the Singer said as she cautiously took hold of the snake, appearing nervous before gradually becoming more comfortable.
By the end of the experience, the singer was allowing the boa to rest around her shoulders before moving on to a lemur. Fans quickly filled the comments with reactions, with one calling the experience “So fun!” while another joked, “omg the snakes I would have ran.” Langley seemed just as delighted by the day, eventually saying, “I love today.”

According to Page Six, the song logged its 23rd week at No. 1, surpassing Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for the longest-running No. 1 song in the chart’s history.
The record added another major moment to a breakthrough year for the country singer, whose rising profile has been driven in large part by the success of “Choosin’ Texas.” While the chart achievement placed her in historic company, Langley appeared more than ready to celebrate in her own unconventional way.
Rather than staying focused on the numbers, she spent the week trying something completely different and inviting fans along for the experience. From a nervous first encounter with the snake to confidently embracing the animals by the end, Langley showed that even a record-breaking week could leave room for a little adventure.

Ella Langley Says The Record Changed Her Life
Langley was already feeling the weight of “Choosin’ Texas” long before it officially made chart history. The song’s explosive success had previously pushed her to step away from touring and retreat to Alabama, where she settled near her parents while trying to escape some of the pressure surrounding her rapid rise.
That experience appears to have changed how Langley views the song’s success. Rather than focusing only on records and statistics, The Blast reported that she emphasized how “Choosin’ Texas” has affected the people closest to her, including the songwriters and her family, describing its impact as something that could shape the rest of her life.
Now that the song has officially reached the top of the record books, Langley is allowing herself to enjoy the moment. She revealed that she was going to treat herself for the accomplishment – a chance to get away from the pressure and enjoy herself by witnessing the journey of the song.
A Pet Kangaroo Helped Inspire The Hit
“Choosin’ Texas” started off in an unlikely way with a conversation about a pet kangaroo. At a writers’ retreat, Lambert shared a story with Langley about being pulled over while traveling with a kangaroo in the passenger seat, and soon an idea was quickly conceived.
Langley latched onto the Texas connection, coming up with the line, “She’s from Texas, I can tell,” before the melody followed. About 45 minutes later, the song was written, setting the stage for a track that would eventually become a history-making hit.
The song also got its signature opening guitar lick from Nashville session guitarist Tom “Uncle Larry” Bukovac. MusicRadar reported that Bukovac came up with the twangy electric-guitar lick during the recording session and even predicted that the song would be a “f-king smash,” a prediction Langley later reminded him he had made.
Ella Langley’s Teacher Still Holds A Special Place In Her Story
ZUMAPRESS.com / MEGAThe singer’s path to country music was shaped in part by a teacher who recognized her passion long before the record-breaking hits. Murray Popwell, known as Coach Pops, spent 22 of his 57 years teaching history at Hoopers Academy, where he connected with Langley through their shared love of horses and music.
They connected through music, as Langley took her guitar to school for Friday morning practice before school started. Coach Pops would bring his 12-string guitar with him, and he remembers, “We would practice every Friday morning before school began, and she would bring her guitar with her.” Langley eventually came to love the unique sound of the guitar.
When Coach Pops learned she was heading to Nashville, he asked her to return to school and gave her the 12-string guitar. The two have remained connected through the years, with Langley even inviting him onstage during a Birmingham show.
In a YouTube video shared by WRAL, he reflected on watching her success, saying, “It affects me like she is my grandchild,” before admitting he has caught himself with tears in his eyes while watching her receive awards. For Coach Pops, Langley’s success is personal because, as he put it, she is “part of my family.”
After breaking records, facing new fears, and honoring the people who helped shape her journey, what’s next for Ella Langley?
