After suffering a muscle injury during Morocco’s World Cup campaign, new Bayern Munich signing Ismael Saibari completed his first training session at the club’s Säbener Straße headquarters on Saturday.

The Moroccan attacker took part in an individual session, which included ball work, as he continued his recovery from the injury.

As Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl explained, the decision was made for Saibari not to travel with the squad on their pre-season tour to Asia.

Instead, the 25-year-old will continue his rehabilitation in Munich with the aim of being available once the travelling squad returns.

“Ismael is eager and would’ve liked to take part in the Asia tour, but he should finish his rehab in peace so that he’s available after the tour,” Eberl said.

“The plan is that we do the final phase of pre-season with him.”
