Stella Parton is questioning why country music stars have kept their distance from her family following Dolly Parton‘s death.

More than two weeks after losing her famous sister to cancer at age 80, Stella said she is yet to personally receive condolences from fellow entertainers she knows.

The silence has left her wondering whether her own outspoken political views could have influenced how some people responded to the death of Dolly Parton.

During an appearance on “CBS Mornings,” Stella revealed that she had not personally heard from fellow entertainers she knew in the two weeks following her sister’s passing.

“I haven’t had one condolence from anyone — anybody that I know, entertainers that I know,” Stella said. “Nobody. Not one.”

She went further, saying she had not “heard from anybody” since Dolly’s death on August 25. Stella did not identify any particular singer or musicians she expected to contact her, leaving the identities of those she was referring to unclear.

Still, her comments hinted that despite the widespread public mourning surrounding the country music legend’s passing, the family had not received personal acknowledgment from people within their own community.

“I’m assuming it might be because of my political, you know, activism on social media,” Stella said when discussing why she had not heard from other country entertainers.

Her comments stopped short of accusing anyone directly. Instead, Stella presented her political activity as one possible explanation for the lack of personal outreach.

The situation also highlights a major difference between the sisters. While Stella has been comfortable publicly taking a political stance, Dolly spent decades deliberately keeping most of her political views away from the public, even turning down presidential honors in order not to appear political.

Dolly’s decision to stay away from partisan politics was intentional, according to her sister. Stella described that approach as the choice of a “good businesswoman,” allowing the singer to connect with people without making politics central to her career.

“There is a tremendous amount of AI and endless garbage being posted every day,” Stella stated in a post on Instagram, admitting that it had been difficult for the family to process while grieving.

At the same time, she expressed gratitude toward those who have offered sincere support. Stella emphasized that each family member will mourn differently and asked the public to give them room to cope with Dolly’s death in their own way.
