After spending the second half of the 2025/26 season on loan at 1. FC Heidenheim, Eren Dinkci's future is up in the air.

The 24-year-old will now return to his parent club, SC Freiburg, but a summer transfer could be on the cards.

“I still have a contract in Freiburg and the plan is for me to return there for now. But there haven’t been any concrete talks yet,” Dinkci told Bild.

One possible option could be a return to Werder Bremen, where he came through the youth ranks.

“There hasn’t been any contact with Werder yet. But I would never say never – especially as someone born in Bremen. I still have one dream: I want to score a goal at the Weserstadion. I haven’t managed to do that yet,” said the winger.

Dinkçi made 50 appearances for Werder, scoring once and providing two assists, before being sold to Freiburg for €5 million in 2024.
