Diddy is not one to back down from a fight, even in prison.

The popular rapper, born Sean John Combs, who is currently serving a 50-month sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey, was recently involved in a prison brawl. The fight may have a negative impact on the length of his sentence.

Diddy’s thing for physical altercations did not spring up after he got behind bars. He was arrested for getting physical with his son’s sports coach over a decade ago.

Diddy Threw Punches And Landed In Solitary Confinement

Diddy reportedly got into a heated brawl with a fellow inmate at Fort Dix, and the calm after the storm had the rapper in solitary confinement. According to multiple sources, the record producer went neck and neck with his other inmate inside the federal lockup; however, more details surrounding the fight remain undisclosed.

Insiders share that the altercation went beyond words after the inmate dissed Diddy, who then took matters into his own hands. The two inmates reportedly got down to business and started throwing jabs and pushing each other.

Sources who spoke to TMZ have revealed that Diddy “held his own” during the scuffle till prison staff intervened and separated them. The rapper was immediately sent into solitary confinement within the prison grounds. The duration of his time in the hole remains unclear as well.

The Fight May Affect The Bad Boy Records Founder’s Sentence

Diddy is scheduled to regain his freedom in February 2028; however, this recent fight may have consequences on his time behind bars in the long run. The date for his release is dependent on whether he earns credits for good behavior in jail.

Peradventure the prison officials feel he was in the wrong during this scuffle, he might as well have just bought himself more time in the federal institution. Media outlets reached out to FCI Ford Dix for their comment on the situation.

“We are not at liberty to disclose or provide internal information pertaining to any inmate in our custody. Such information would not be available for the public domain,” they responded via a rep. 

The Federal Bureau of Prisons also declined to chip in, saying it does not comment on “disciplinary matters, or other information regarding individual inmates due to privacy, safety, and security concerns.” 

The ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ Artist Was Previously Arrested On Assault Charges

Back in 2015, Diddy was taken into custody after officers responded to an incident involving the musician and a sports coach at UCLA. At the time, one of his sons named Justin, was playing as a defensive back on the American Football Team.

During one of the games that Diddy attended, a team assistant was reportedly yelling at Justin repeatedly, and that rubbed the rapper the wrong way. After the match, the artist went to confront the coach in his office, and things went downhill from there. Football coach Jim Mora described it as an “unfortunate incident.”

According to a report from BBC News at the time, the dispute took place in the office of UCLA’s assistant coach Sal Alosi and involved a gym kettlebell. No one was seriously injured in the end, and Diddy was released from an L.A. County jail after posting bail. He was ultimately charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Inside Previous Assault Cases Involving The Artist

Almost two decades ago, Diddy was accused of punching a man at New York City nightclub Kiosk. The man, identified as Steven Acevedo, claimed that the “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down’ hitmaker initiated the fight after he said he had dated Diddy’s latest girlfriend at the time.

During the heated exchange, Diddy allegedly screamed “I’ll kill you, punk!” while punching Acevedo, busting his lip and bloodying his nose. The authorities were alerted and began looking into the matter for third-degree misdemeanor assault, but charges were ultimately dropped.

ABC News shared that on October 9, 2007, Diddy was also slammed with a $5 million lawsuit by hip-hop promoter James Waldon. He claimed that the record producer unleashed three violent bodyguards on him at a NYC club. He also alleged that the nightclub beating left him with extensive physical trauma and facial injuries.

Another man also claimed that Diddy sucker-punched him in the parking lot of Hollywood’s Roosevelt Hotel after an argument over a woman.

Diddy Has Also Faced Sexual Assault Claims

The Blast shared that last month, a man named Jonathan Hay accused Diddy of sexual harassment. Hay claimed that after he met Diddy while working on a project with Biggie’s son, CJ Wallace, the rapper used one of Biggie’s shirts to masturbate. The alleged incident took place in 2020.

About a year later, Hay claimed that Diddy forced him to perform oral sex on him, and the incident was so traumatic that it left him feeling suicidal. One of the artist’s former collaborators, Dawn Richard, also accused him of touching her inappropriately at the recording studio.

Richard’s claims did not end there; she accused Diddy of retaliation after he found out she had advised his then-lover, Cassie, to break up with him. She claimed her advice came from a place of care because she had seen Diddy abuse Cassie. Notably, Cassie filed sexual abuse allegations against the rapper as well.
