The German football association has declined signing the formal letter which would put forward current FIFA president Infantino for a possible third stint in charge of the global organisation.

The DFB (German Football Association) refused to sign a letter to put forth Gianni Infantino as a candidate for another term as FIFA president.

DFB president Bernd Neuendorf has distanced himself from Infantino, especially after the Folarin Balogun red card affair, BILD reports.

Balogun was due to be suspended for the USA's last-16 clash with Belgium but his red card was overturned in a controversial hearing.
