Toronto Police say a man was stabbed on Tuesday afternoon just after 3 p.m. following an altercation on a streetcar at St. Patrick St. and Dundas St. W.

Cops say the man was transported to a hospital via a trauma run with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The male suspect fled westbound on Dundas before being taken into custody a short time later.

PEDESTRIAN KILLED AFTER AURORA CRASH

York Regional Police are seeking witnesses after a pedestrian was fatally struck in Aurora on Tuesday.

Cops say they responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Wellington St. E. and Yonge St. around 9:13 a.m.

When police arrived, they found an 84-year-old male with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The involved vehicle remained at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police and to anyone who may have dashcam or any other footage of the area around the time of the collision to come forward. York Regional Police say on Monday around 5 a.m., officers received reports of mischief to property in the area of Burnhaven Ave. and Haymer Dr.

Investigators alleged that around 1:15 a.m., following a personal dispute, a suspect attended the victim’s house and used spray paint to deface their residence and vehicle, including racist symbols and remarks despite the victim not being part of that community.

While investigating this incident, police discovered additional vehicles and city property spray-painted with graffiti, including racist slurs.

VEHICLE SHOT UP IN PICKERING

Liam Jacob Miller-North, 25, of Pickering man faces six charges after a vehicle was shot at in Pickering.

Durham Regional Police say on Monday around 6:35 a.m., members of West Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Sapphire Dr. and Dragonfly Ave.

Cops say a male suspect allegedly shot at a parked vehicle before fleeing the area on foot but he was eventually located. Authorities say during the foot pursuit, the suspect allegedly discarded a handgun into a green space before being taken into custody. The handgun was located and seized.

No physical injuries were sustained during the shooting, which police said was an isolated incident.

Toronto Police are warning the public about “pickpocket-style thefts” in and around the Entertainment District in the downtown core.

It’s reported that suspects are allegedly targeting victims while they are attending festivals like TIFF and other events and concerts in the area. Police say items are being stolen from unsuspecting victims or while items are left unattended.

Authorities are reminding the public to be aware of their surroundings and their belongings, such as cellphones and wallets, when attending events where crowds are present.
