Toronto Police said officers were called on Aug. 29 to a storage unit in the Torbarrie and Jethro Rds. area, where it’s alleged two firearms were located within a locker that was being auctioned off.

A search warrant was executed and a .25 automatic handgun, revolver, ammunition, several knives, replica firearms and rifles were seized.

A suspect was also identified by investigators.

Panagioti Bozzo is wanted for 19 mostly firearms-related charges in addition to two counts of fail to comply with release order.

He is described as 5-foot-5, 120 pounds, with brown eyes and short black hair.

NEWMARKET MAN IDENTIFIED IN FATAL NEWMARKET STABBING

A 66-year-old Newmarket man has been identified by investigators as York Region’s 16th homicide victim.

York Regional Police said officers responded on Monday at about 8:50 a.m. to an apartment complex in the Timothy and Prospect Sts. area of Newmarket for a welfare check.

Officers arrived and found a man who had been stabbed. He was declared dead at the scene.

The man has been identified as Dennis Sweet.

Philip Rulli, 56, of no fixed address, was charged with second-degree murder.

Police said the accused and victim were known to each other and this is being treated as an isolated incident.

MAN SOUGHT IN PARKDALE STABBING

A 38-year-old Toronto man is sought after a stabbing in Parkdale on Monday night.

Toronto Police said officers responded at 8:30 p.m. to the West Lodge Ave. and Queen St. W. area after it was reported that the accused and alleged victims were involved in an argument leading to the accused allegedly producing a knife and assaulting the victims and threatening to kill them.

Police said two alleged victims were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the accused fled the area.

Nathanel Charles Williams is wanted for three counts of assault with a weapon and threatening death.

COPS SEEK SUSPECTS IN MARKHAM HOME INVASION

Police are appealing for witnesses and seeking suspects following what’s believed to have been a targeted home invasion in Markham.

York Regional Police said officers were called at about 3 a.m. Friday to a home in the area of The Bridle Walk and Castlemore Ave. after it was reported that three suspects forced their way into the home, armed with a hammer, while demanding the victim’s vehicle keys.

Cops say a fourth suspect, believed to be the driver, remained in the suspect vehicle.

Security video released by police shows the suspects driving past the house several times before the incident occurred.

Police said the suspects obtained keys to the victim’s vehicle, a white 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS sport utility vehicle, with Ontario licence plate DDPW030 and two fled in it while the remaining two suspects fled in the suspect vehicle, described as a dark, four-door sedan.

Cops said there were four adults and two children in the home at the time of the incident but no one was injured.

MARKHAM MAN CHARGED WITH DANGEROUS DRIVING

A 30-year-old Markham man has been charged after allegedly driving dangerously and on a sidewalk in a school zone.

York Regional Police said a Crime Prevention Officer was conducting back-to-school enforcement on Thursday at about 3:30 p.m. in the Russell Jarvis and Rouge Bank Drs. area when the accused was seen allegedly driving in a dangerous manner, committing numerous traffic offences and driving on the sidewalk.

Additional units were called to the area and the accused was taken into custody.

Jonathan Trapp was charged with dangerous operation and obstruct a police officer.

MASSAGE THERAPIST ACCUSED OF SEX ASSSAULT

A 54-year-old massage therapist working in Newmarket has been charged with sexual assault.

York Regional Police said the alleged incident happened on Aug. 19 when a client visited a clinic in the Yonge St. and Savage Rd. area.

During the massage, police allege that the accused “touched the victim in a sexual manner.”

The accused is believed to work at two massage clinics, one in Newmarket and the other in Richmond Hill.

Investigators believe there are more alleged victims. A photo of the accused has been released.
