Union Berlin host Freiburg with both teams looking to put behind their defeats on matchday eight. The hosts beat Bochum after extra-time in the cup, while Freiburg squeezed past Fortuna Düsseldorf despite a listless second-half performance.

Steffen Baumgart picks a slightly defensive side with both Iyles Ansah and Oliver Burke starting on the bench. Julian Schuster replaced the suspended center-back Philipp Lienhart with Max Rosenfelder. Igor Matanovic was superb in his first start, but Lucas Höler and Junior Adamu will lead Freiburg's attack in today's match.
