Confirmed Lineups: Borussia Dortmund vs. Villarreal CF

Here are the lineups for Borussia Dortmund’s first European game of the season against LaLiga outfit Villarreal.

Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal meet once again at Westfalenstadion (Signal Iduna Park) in the league phase of the Champions League. Niko Kovac’s side won 4-0 in the first-ever head-to-head clash between the clubs last season.

The hosts have new signings Joey Veerman and Konstantinos Karetsas in their lineup, while Ethan Nwaneri starts on the bench once again after initiating the winning goal in the comeback victory over Hoffenheim. Serhou Guirassy, who scored the first two goals in last season’s meeting, starts up front for Dortmund.

RB Leipzig’s legendary goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi returns to Germany for his first continental fixture in Villarreal colors. Earlier today, reports mentioned there will only be 39 traveling fans present in the away section.
