The two clubs confirmed the centre-back's move to England on Thursday evening.

“We’d like to thank Aurèle for his commitment in an Eintracht Frankfurt shirt," said Eintracht Frankfurt board member for sport Markus Krösche.

"He always conducted himself with professionalism and always put the team first. We wish him all the best for the future, both in his sporting career and in his private life.”

According to reports, Eintracht Frankfurt are set to receive up to €20 million, including bonuses, for the Switzerland international, who spent two seasons at Deutsche Bank Park.
