During a Hollywood Reporter interview to promote her new album Day and Night, the Call Me Maybe singer offered the tidbit about her baby when she was asked if series creator Jacob Tierney has approached her about writing a new song for the show.
“No, but I definitely am the biggest fan of Heated Rivalry,” Jepsen said. “I thought it was an incredible show.”
The 40-year-old B.C. native then shared a “fun fact” about her baby boy.
“Ilya is the name of my son,” Jepsen said, referring to the name of the character played by Connor Storrie.
“Maybe, not maybe, because of that show,” she added.
She then said writing a song for the hit Canadian drama would be a “dream of mine.”

Tierney had previously told the What Chaos! podcast that he would have loved to have Jepsen’s music on the first season of the hockey drama, but “we couldn’t afford that.”

He said Jepsen’s music was on his playlist when he wrote the show, then added that he would “definitely be asking next time,” and said he’d ask her to write a new song for the series.
Back in March, Jepsen announced the birth of her son with husband Cole M.G.N. in a post on Instagram Stories.
In the selfie, the new mom was pictured standing in front of a mirror, holding her baby who was wearing a light-green and white onesie with a matching hat.
“Last 2 weeks have been the best of my life,” she wrote. “Welcome to the world little one.”
