An 87-year-old woman from Carleton Place has died in hospital less than a week after her car was involved in a two-vehicle collision at Innisville, east of Perth, the Ontario Provincial Police said Thursday.

The unidentified woman was driving one of the two vehicles involved in the collision on the afternoon of Dec. 26, police said in a media release. She died on New Year’s Day.

The other driver involved in the collision was also transported to hospital, the release added.

Police said an investigation found that one of the two vehicles had pulled onto Highway 7 and collided with the other.

The investigation was continuing, the OPP added.
