Before the model made his way to the side, he decided to fluff the train of her Alberta Ferretti gown, moving it behind Nicola, seemingly so she could walk unobstructed along the red carpet.

This move seemed to rub Nicola the wrong way, as her visage quickly shifted from a smile to an irritated glare, supposedly directed at her husband, who had walked off to stand near the barriers.

Fans wasted no time airing their thoughts on what could be going down behind the scenes in the couple’s relationship. “Something about this little video tells me she’s a little bit tired of him. Maybe Brooklyn is very overprotective of her and suffocates her, actually. He’s her yes-man instead of her husband,” a commenter noted. “Oof, she hates him,” another simply wrote.

A different netizen compared the interaction to that of the popular Hollywood couple, Zendaya and Tom Holland, writing that the love they naturally show at public events was missing with Brooklyn and Nicola.

Last month, Brooklyn rained down heat on a netizen who commented on his wife’s body, as shared by The Blast. The online user asked if he was concerned about Nicola’s looks, highlighting her recent body changes in a comment under a video of him making a cottage pie.

As if that wasn’t enough, the user went on to suggest that the model might as well feed his wife some of the food he has been making, as she is a public figure whose looks will always be a hot topic of conversation.  

Brooklyn, in response, issued a stern warning to the commenter, stressing that such words should never be repeated or used to speak about his wife. “Don’t ever talk about my wife. She’s absolutely beautiful, and you should never comment on a woman’s body. It’s disgraceful,” the media personality declared.

Brooklyn, the eldest son of Victoria and David Beckham, cut ties with his family shortly after his marriage to Nicola. Since then, the dynamics of the Beckham family relationships have made several headlines.

Furthermore, he alleged that members of his family said his wife was not “blood” or “family.” 

Brooklyn previously said he had burnt bridges and had no plans to rebuild them. He clarified that his decision to cut ties with his family was not fueled by anyone but himself.

Brooklyn claimed Victoria made him feel “uncomfortable [and] humiliated” on his wedding day by dancing “very inappropriately with him” and ruining his first dance.

They made their first public appearance together at the Saint Laurent show during Paris Fashion Week on February 25, 2020, just months after showing off their romance online. Their romance was quite the whirlwind because less than a year after they started dating, Brooklyn had popped the question.

“Two weeks ago, I asked my soulmate to marry me, and she said yes,” the rising chef posted in July 2020. PEOPLE reported that the couple had their nuptials at an elegant black-tie affair held on the actress’s family estate in Palm Beach, Florida.
