Brian Hickerson has landed back in the spotlight after a police encounter raised fresh questions surrounding his connection to the late actress Hayden Panettiere.

An eyewitness account of the encounter has now drawn attention, bringing Hickerson’s name back into a story already filled with unanswered questions and renewed scrutiny.

The encounter reportedly started when another table recognized the brothers and began making comments about the actress.

The situation did not immediately explode, however, as two women from the group were reportedly seen repeatedly approaching Brian and Zach’s table. An eyewitness said it was unclear whether they were asking questions about Hayden or trying to calm things down after the men at their table began mouthing off.

But the uneasy exchange eventually shifted from words to confrontation, with Zach reportedly approaching one of the men and getting in his face. What happened next turned an uncomfortable encounter into a chaotic scene inside the restaurant.

The Bar Encounter Quickly Spiraled Into Chaos

According to TMZ, an eyewitness said the confrontation moved toward the bar as Zach and another man began grabbing each other. Other people quickly jumped in as yelling broke out, with glasses reportedly hitting the floor and a table being pushed over during the melee.

The witness also claimed Brian threw a chair during the chaos and said the former boyfriend of Hayden Panettiere ended up with a cut on his face. Police were later called to the restaurant, where both brothers were detained following the altercation.

Brian was ultimately released without being arrested, while Zach was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and remained in custody. During the encounter, Brian was also reportedly heard yelling about information being leaked when his “girlfriend died,” apparently referring to Hayden’s death.

Long before the recent police encounter, Hickerson’s relationship with Hayden Panettiere had reportedly become a major source of concern for the actress’s family. Her mother, Lesley Vogel, later spoke publicly about how deeply troubled she was by the relationship and the effect she believed it was having on her daughter.

The Blast reported Vogel told Good Morning America that Hayden knew Brian was “toxic” and had wanted to end the relationship. However, Vogel said her daughter ultimately told her that she intended to stay with the person she loved, leaving her mother feeling she had little choice but to distance herself.

The development has added another layer of uncertainty to a case that has yet to produce a public toxicology report. According to Page Six, authorities are reportedly “zeroing in on a potential drug dealer” as part of the investigation.

Hickerson has also met with the Drug Enforcement Administration, although his attorney has maintained that  Panettiere’s death remains under investigation and urged people to allow that process to continue.

The circumstances surrounding that final day have also drawn questions from Panettiere’s mother, Lesley Vogel, who has publicly challenged parts of Brian’s account, claiming it “is full of holes”.

With investigators still working to establish exactly what led to the death, the unanswered questions surrounding those final hours continue to keep the case under intense scrutiny.
