Here is another backstory to the ongoing estrangement between Brad Pitt and his children!

As two of the actor’s children advance in their course to part ways with his famous last name, sources close to him are providing reasons why Angelina Jolie‘s last name has emerged as the preferred choice.

Brad Pitt’s woes with Angelina Jolie and their kids began in 2016 after they allegedly engaged in a heated exchange on their journey back from a family vacation, leading to their separation that same year.

While it has been a decade since Brad and Angelina’s alleged tussle on the plane right in front of their kids, the family is still dealing with the spillover. A close source revealed that their six kids have not forgiven Pitt, nor have they put that scene behind them. 

They reportedly remember their parent’s marriage as being an awful one, laced with endless fights and hurtful drama. At the end of the day, Angelina’s parenting skills of giving them a free hand, in contrast to Brad’s style of setting boundaries, ultimately won the kids over to her side.

“None of the kids respect Brad because of what he has done to their mother,” the source noted, adding that while the actor is seen as “the villain,” Angelina is tagged as the “superwoman.”

As the actor mourns the loss of that connection with his kids, Angelina is getting all the reward for notably building a bond with the six of them.

Another insider informed The Daily Mail that Pitt knows his hands are tied in this situation, and he has no choice but to respect the decision of his children, even though it hurts him.

The Actor Reportedly Failed To Set Up The Kids’ Hollywood Future

Aside from the airplane episode, the actor and actress’ six kids also carry another grudge about Brad when it comes to the extent of his effort in securing their future.

In recent times, the children have become more disappointed at Brad’s attempt to upset their inheritance due to the back and forth over Angelina’s stake in Miraval, a French winery the former couple both owned.

On the Hollywood part, Brad, who is equally a big player in the movie industry, has seemingly failed to introduce his children to the inner workings of Hollywood compared to Angelina. The “Salt” actress has onboarded more than one of their children on movie projects with their names appearing in the credits.

Maddox, Pax and Vivienne, who have all made the move to change their last names from Pitt to Jolie, are grateful to their mother for making things happen for them when it comes to building a Hollywood career.

However, a source defended Brad, explaining that Angelina had deliberately excluded Brad from having talks about that aspect with the kids.

The Blast revealed that during an event hosted by the Pearls of Purpose Foundation alongside Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Zahara came through with the praises.

Zahara reflected on her childhood as an adopted daughter maneuvering the realities of her new family who raised her with love, kindness, compassion, and growth. The actress’ daughter bragged about carrying these values with her to the outside world and reaping the rewards.

Angelina’s humanitarian works also left an indelible print in Zahara’s life, teaching her the importance of empathy, responsibility, and strength to fight through life’s challenges. The actress adopted Zahara in Ethiopia in 2006 at just six months old during her stay at an orphanage.

Should Zahara change her mind about reconciling with Pitt tomorrow or the next, the actor is reportedly open to mending fences; however, sources also know time is not on his side and reconciliation may become a mirage as the days pass.

Jolie Insisted Pitt’s Court Victory Changes Nothing In Winery Feud

The former couple’s battle over Château Miraval is far from over, despite the actor recently scoring a key court victory. Reacting to the win, The Blast noted that Jolie’s attorney revealed that the ruling does not affect the substance of her case.

The legal representative declared that the actress was oozing confidence ahead of the trial slated for next year, where they can hopefully move on from the unending back and forth. The latest decision from the California appeals court permitted Russian-born billionaire Yuri Shefler to face additional scrutiny in the case.

Shefler had argued he played only a limited role in the 2021 transaction through which Jolie sold her interest in the French winery. Still, members of the Stoli Group are now expected to sit for depositions later this year. 

Pitt filed the lawsuit in 2022 alleging that Jolie’s sale was in violation of an agreement that neither would sell their stake unless the other agreed. He has also argued that the deal hurt the winery by bringing in an unwanted business partner.

However, Jolie has denied that such an agreement ever existed, and has made past accusations that Pitt has been using the litigation to keep the estate in his hands. The dispute over Miraval is one of the few remaining legal hurdles left between the former couple.

Brad Pitt’s Son Still In Touch With His Side Of The Family

The actor, who is optimistic about his biological kids burying the hatchet with him in the future, may have to expand that sample size to capture Pax, who was spotted spending time with the actor’s extended family. Pax was captured bonding with his father’s family at dinner to celebrate his cousin’s engagement.

The event was to celebrate Pax’s cousin, Sydney, who got engaged to Archimede Jerome, and some of Brad’s relatives, including his sister Julie Pitt Neal, as well as niece Reagan Pitt, also made the list.

While Pax and the actor do not have a relationship at the moment, the sighting may be an indication of something positive in the state of their romance. Pax, born in Vietnam in 2003, was adopted by Angelina in 2007 at just three years old, with Brad formally adopting him a year later in 2008.

In 2014, Pax made a cameo in Angelina’s “Maleficent” and also voiced Yoo in the 2016 flick “Kung Fu Panda.” He added production assistant to his portfolio in 2024 on the set of “Maria.”
