Ben Affleck Forced To Evacuate Pacific Palisades Home He Purchased After Divorcing Jennifer Lopez
On Tuesday night, The Blast reported that Affleck was one of several celebrities in danger of losing their home in the Pacific Palisades area due to the dangerous wildfires.
The “Good Will Hunting” star, 52, was said to have purchased the $20.5 million property, noted as a “bachelor pad,” following his split from Lopez in August 2024, when the “Can’t Get Enough” singer filed for divorce following their two-year marriage.
Though he hadn’t been in the area long, TMZ reports that Affleck was forced to evacuate due to the wildfires on Tuesday evening. Photos were taken of the actor driving through the city streets, looking devastated and worn at the carnage around him.

As Affleck headed for safer pastures from the wildfires, the L.A.-based premiere of Lopez’s new film was abruptly scrapped for safety measures.
"Unstoppable," the film adaptation of NCAA Division 1 wrestling champion Anthony Robles' memoir, was set to debut at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening, with Lopez and other stars in attendance. Despite ‘Nightmare’ Of A Marriage, Lopez And Affleck Are In A Good Place
The once-fiery romance between Lopez and Affleck - rekindled following a nearly 20-year break between engagements – fizzled out in 2024 just months after she dropped two lampooned projects dedicated to their love story – the album “This Is Me… Now” and its accompanying Amazon film of the same name.
Since then, Lopez has done her best to move on with her life.
“The fairy tale she was promised turned out to be a nightmare in the end,” a source close to Lopez recently revealed. “She's in a really good place and just wants to close the door on this crazy chapter.”
Affleck also appears to be trying to put his best foot forward, diving into work, including the upcoming “RIP” with close pal Matt Damon.
“He seems to be in a good place,” a source of Affleck’s stated, adding, “[he’s] very happy with life.”

The Former Married Couple Has Kept The Peace For The Kids
Though the pair never had children of their own during their marriage, Lopez and Affleck’s kids from previous relationships still care for their former stepparents.
One day before news of their divorce settlement was made public, the exes were photographed spending time with one another at Affleck’s home. Also in attendance were Lopez’s 16-year-old child Emme (who goes by gender-neutral pronouns), and 12-year-old Samuel, one of Affleck’s children with Jennifer Garner.
In one photo, Emme can be seen carrying a huge present for someone. In another, Lopez gives Samuel a warm embrace.
What We Know Of The Divorce Settlement
Though Lopez and Affleck’s divorce has been officially settled, it will not be finalized until the end of February, according to reports.
The pair maintained their separate assets in the settlement, but Lopez was allowed to keep her $5 million engagement ring.
Affleck will retain his stake in Matt Damon’s Artists Equity production company without interference from his former wife.
