Merit Flush Balm Cream Blush

They say: New year, five new shade additions to the bestselling cream blush collection from the brand Merit. The fresh hues include: Le Bon Bon (a bright pink); Lusitano (a soft peach); Archival (a cool mauve); Postmodern (a deep pink-brown); and Bespoke (a medium pink-brown).

We say: Blush fans, take note. The shade extension of these bestselling blushes offer bolder, deeper hues for a perfect pop of colour on your cheeks. The melting formula, which can be easily applied directly to the skin thanks to the rounded shape, remains the same (read: blissfully blend-able and buildable) as the original.

Benefit Cosmetics Mighty Fine Brow Pen

They say: An ultrafine brow pen from Benefit that features a trio-tipped brush measuring just 0.1 millimetre each. Billed as the “finest triple-tip brown pen” on the market, the pen allows for natural, hairlike strokes to be applied for a fuller brow look.

We say: A clean brow is the essential first step to this product application, our tester reports. Trying to apply over sticky skin care or foundation will disrupt the pen’s performance. Applied to clean, brushed brows, our tester found the tiny brushes yielded supernatural, hairlike strokes to give sparse areas some added oomph.

Skinfix Eczema+ Hand Relief Cream

They say: A calming and nourishing hand cream that’s specifically formulated to address eczema and dry, cracked skin. The cream features ceramides, colloidal oatmeal and a patented B-L3 Complex to hydrate and protect skin.

We say: This hand cream is a must-try for anyone who battles severe skin dryness or eczema, especially during these cold winter months. Our tester applied the cream (a little goes a long way) to his hands and reported an instant soothing effect. While it’s a super-rich formula, it didn’t feel overly greasy or thick on skin, he reports.
