Bayern Munich have provided a positive injury update on 18-year-old youngster Lennart Karl.

The German champions confirmed that Karl has resumed running training and completed laps around the training ground on Wednesday morning.

The teenager is set to continue his individual recovery plan in Munich over the next few weeks as he builds back towards full fitness after suffering a muscle tear just before the World Cup with Germany.

The goal is for Karl to return to full team training during pre-season.

“It’ll take some time before I can join the sessions with the guys. Now it’s about not overdoing it," Karl recently said in an interview with FC Bayern's website.

Karl enjoyed a breakthrough season at senior level last term, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists in 40 appearances for Bayern.
