Hamburger SV’s sale of Fabio Baldé to Racing Strasbourg for a reported €7 million plus bonuses could help the Bundesliga club get a deal over the line with Arsenal for Fabio Vieira, Sky Germany reports.
So far, there has been a sizeable gap in negotiations, as Arsenal have been demanding around €18 million, while HSV have been looking for a fee below €10 million.
However, according to Sky Germany, talks between the two clubs are expected to intensify in the coming days, with the broadcaster deeming it likely that HSV will be able to bring Vieira back before the transfer window closes.
The Portuguese midfielder impressed during his loan spell with Die Rothosen last season, racking up seven goals and five assists in 29 Bundesliga appearances.
Vieira is not the only player HSV are working to sign, with Leeds United centre-back Sebastiaan Bornauw and OGC Nice striker Terem Moffi also reportedly high on their wishlist.
