The administration says wellness supports are being made available to residents of the community located on Flores Island near Tofino.

Mounties say in a press release issued Sunday that they had been called to a residence on Robinson Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Saturday and arrived to find paramedics providing medical aid to a man.

But they say he was immediately pronounced dead and another man was arrested in connection with the incident a short time later.

Police say it appears to be an isolated incident, the men knew each other and they believe there is no further risk to the public.
