Adi Hütter confirms Baum will remain in Frankfurt

The Eintracht Frankfurt head coach has ended any speculation surrounding the full-back’s future.

Following reports from Sky Germany that Elias Baum was set to remain at the club, Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Adi Hütter has now confirmed the news himself.

Speaking after Die Adler’s 1-0 friendly victory over Waldhof Mannheim, Hütter dismissed any rumours of a summer departure.

“We will keep him with us. No move to HSV or anywhere else.”

Baum had been linked with a move away from Deutsche Bank Park in recent weeks, but it now appears the 20-year-old will continue his development in Frankfurt after an encouraging pre-season.

The right-back also made his mark in Saturday’s friendly, providing the assist for the game’s only goal. Speaking to EintrachtTV after the match, Baum admitted he was pleased to see his hard work pay off.

“A pass like that gives you confidence. In the two previous games, we talked about how the balls have to arrive in the final third. I need to reward myself for the effort I put in. This time it worked out.”

The latest comments from both Hütter and Baum appear to bring an end to the transfer speculation, with the highly rated youngster now set to remain part of Frankfurt’s plans for the upcoming season.
