Big concerts are big business.

Concerts by the most famous names in music are making record profits in 2026, and industry watchers report that stadium and top-tier arena tours are a driving force behind the trend. Industry powerhouse Live Nation Entertainment reported a 9 per cent increase in second-quarter revenue, amounting to US$7.7 billion.

Vancouver has seen more of these mega stars roll through town this year than ever before, with artists such as Bruno Mars adding five B.C. Place performances to his The Romantic Tour from Oct. 14 to 21. That’s a record for the venue, which is already having its busiest year to date.

So who can fans expect to see coming to town next year to keep this ball rolling?

So far, only country singer Luke Combs has announced a date on June 5, 2027 during his My Kinda Saturday Night Tour. Tickets went on sale Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.ca, and will probably sell out.

There are a number of big names rumoured to be hitting the road next year that have played here before and would almost certainly make a return appearance.

Because of escalating costs in taking tours to many venues, there is a tendency for megastars to cut back on the number of places they perform and to add more dates in a specific A-list market like Toronto.

Oftentimes, this means Toronto becomes the only Canandian stop for acts ranging from Oasis to BTS and others. However, while the closest local fans are likely to get to the Gallagher brothers is watching the new Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger documentary, K-pop powerhouse BTS has been adding dates all over the world on its Arirang Tour.

And Vancouver is an easy direct flight from Seoul.

Chris Martin and company have yet to publish any specific dates for the next leg of the band’s continuing Music of the Spheres World Tour, which overtook even Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour as the largest ticketed concert tour of all time this year.

Surpassing 13 million tickets sold, Martin told a sell-out crowd on the 9th night of the band’s 10-night stand at London’s Wembley Stadium that it would be adding another 138 dates. Coldplay excels at selling out multiple nights in this city, so it would make sense to see the band back here again.

Yes, it says ‘sorry, no shows currently’ on his website, where you can also register for updates. But with the surprise release of Swag II in September 2025 and his head-turning performances at both the Grammys and Coachella, every indicator points to a triumphant return to touring for Justin Bieber.

Though the online chatter about when and where a possible Justin Bieber tour could begin remains all speculation for now, we hope to see him in Vancouver.
