On Nov. 12, cops arrested three women and two men after the suspects were allegedly at several banks and retail stores for the purpose of conducting distraction thefts between Dec. 10, 2023, and Oct. 19.

Authorities said the suspects allegedly targeted elderly victims using various techniques to obtain PINs and steal wallets and bank cards. They would then allegedly go to banks to withdraw funds from the victims’ accounts to fraudulently purchase pre-paid credit cards, which were then used to buy luxury items and electronics.
