2. Bundesliga: Kiel end Nürnberg’s perfect start

Holstein Kiel recorded their third 2-2 scoreline on Saturday as they held league leaders Nürnberg.

Goals continue to flow in 2. Bundesliga as Holstein Kiel and Nürnberg were involved in a four-goal thriller. Both teams only led for about five minutes as the four goals were scored in the space of 15 minutes, sandwiched by the half-time break.

Adam Markhiev was the first to get his name into the scoresheet as he launched a powerful strike from range five minutes before the break. The 24-year-old midfielder found the net three times in the last two games after only doing it once in his debut 2. Bundesliga season.

Kiel’s in-form striker Phil Harres got the equalizer just before the teams went into the dressing room. The 24-year-old already scored four headed goals since the start of the season.

Five minutes after the restart, Kiel took the lead with Adrian Kapralik’s brilliant strike, but Miroslav Klose’s men earned a point with an immediate equalizer by Piet Scobel, who has now scored in three successive away encounters.

Nürnberg’s winning start to the season came to an end, but they will remain top of the league unless Hertha BSC beat Magdeburg tomorrow afternoon. Kiel are still looking for their first league win of the season as three of their four games ended 2-2.
